FiR.mt Launches a New Webpage Layout to Support European Research Collaboration

The Foundation for Innovation and Research – Malta (FiR.mt) has launched a refreshed webpage layout designed to better reflect its role within the European research and innovation ecosystem and to improve accessibility, clarity, and usability for researchers, partners, and stakeholders.

A Clearer Structure for a Growing Research Role

The new layout introduces a clearer, more intuitive structure across the website, making it easier to navigate FiR.mt’s activities, infrastructure, and services. Key sections such as People, Projects, Infrastructure, Learn & Share, and Societal Impact are now more clearly presented, supporting visitors in quickly identifying relevant opportunities and information.

This update responds to the increasing complexity of European research programmes and the need for transparent, well-structured institutional communication.

Aligned with European Research Priorities

The redesigned webpage reflects FiR.mt’s alignment with current and emerging European research priorities, including:

  • Horizon Europe Pillar II thematic clusters
  • EU Missions (Climate Adaptation, Climate-Neutral Cities, Environment & Resilience)
  • Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) principles
  • Open science, data governance, and societal engagement

The new structure supports early-stage concept development, Living Lab collaboration, and engagement with public authorities, industry, and civil society.

Improved Accessibility and User Experience

The updated layout improves readability, mobile responsiveness, and consistency across pages. Content is now presented in a way that supports both high-level exploration and detailed understanding, serving a wide audience ranging from policy makers and funding bodies to researchers, students, and community stakeholders.

Supporting Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing

The launch of the Learn & Share section highlights FiR.mt’s commitment to education, training, and knowledge exchange. This includes support for academic pathways, workshops, scientific events, and collaboration with European partners for postgraduate research, supervision, and capacity building.

Researcher Profiles and Expertise Directory

FiR.mt is developing a public researcher and expertise directory to present its research community, areas of expertise, and contributions to European research and innovation.

This directory will progressively provide structured profiles of researchers and affiliated experts, supporting transparency, collaboration, and partner discovery across European projects.

The platform will be expanded over time in line with FiR.mt’s growing research portfolio and participation in European initiatives.

Looking Ahead

This webpage update is part of FiR.mt’s broader effort to strengthen its digital presence and provide a solid foundation for future European research actions. The platform will continue to evolve alongside FiR.mt’s Living Labs, projects, and partnerships.

Visitors are invited to explore the new layout and connect with FiR.mt to discuss collaboration opportunities and future research initiatives.
